Biscuits N’ Sausage Gravy


1 Serving = 2 Bisquits and 1/3 of Gravy
Recipe Yields 3 Servings

Ingredients:
Biscuits-
·      1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
·      ½ T Baking Powder
·      ½ t Salt
·      1 Cup Greek Plain 0% Fat Yogurt
Gravy-
·      1 lb Breakfast Turkey Sausage
·      2 Cups Skim Milk
·      ¼ Cup Flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425. Spray a baking pan with olive oil.

Combine biscuit flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

Add yogurt. Fold in until all dry is incorporated.

Make 6 drop biscuits on baking pan.

Bake until golden brown- about 12 minutes.

While biscuits are baking, brown turkey breakfast sausage in a large skillet on the stovetop.

Whisk together ¼ cup flour with 2 cups skim milk. Blender Bottle’s work great for this!

Slowly add the milk-flour mixture to the sausage over medium heat while whisking. Continue to whisk and this will start thickening in a few minutes. Add 1 tsp seasoning salt and ½ tsp pepper (or to taste). Simmer another 5-10 minutes.
